Birzai: Book PresentationThe presentation of collective volume "Jews on the Map of Lithuania: Birzai. Preserving Jewish Heritage and Historical Memory" (Moscow, 2015, p.374, editors: Irina Kopchenova, Svetlana Amosova, Leonid Dreyer, Larisa Lempertene, Victoria Mochalova, Mikhail Nosonovsky) took place in the hall of Radzivilly castle in Birzai on 13th of November, 2015.
The ambassador of Israel in Lithunia Amir Maymon, the mayor of Birzai Valmedaras Valkyunas, Olga Belova and Vladimir Petrukhin (representatives from the "Sefer" Center), the participants of hte field schools in Birzai Motl Gordon, Alina Adamovich, Alexey Kossykh, Mariya Mikhaylova, Yuliyana Leganovich and Merunas Yukonis attended the presentation. There were more than 100 guests coming to the event. Many of them stressed out that such a work that described the history of the Jewish community in one city was made for the first time ever.
The main newspaper of Birzai published the article about the presentation under the title "The book about people who have names". Other report about the event was published on the webpage siaure.lt.
